Busy Days Ahead

I am very excited because my sister Kristy and family will be flying here with their newborn baby next Saturday. Their itinerary is as follows:

4 August: fly into Nashville

6 August – 10 August: drive to North Carolina

17 – 21 August: drive to Michigan

30 August: leave for Ljubljana

Timothy’s family is from North Carolina so they will visit there as well as our family in Michigan. While they are here I will try to organize some form of get together with a lot of the friends they haven’t seen in a long time. I’ve already warned them that my current condition will not allow me to host as I would like but I am happy to host regardless. Kristy will be able to come to my diaper shower on the 11th, which makes me happy, and Thadeus their middle son will turn two on the 26th of August so we will have some form of birthday celebration as well. That may just be local cousins, I don’t know what they are up for yet.

It is going to be a busy month and to top it off I will hit that wonderful mark of full term on the 20th. 36 weeks is when Ivan decided to show up. I am not necessarily hoping this happens again as he was not as ready as we’d hoped, but just like most pregnant ladies, a little early is a good option in my mind. I just e-mailed Kristy and reminded her of all of this and asked her if she’d like it if I had the baby while they are here at the house. Wouldn’t that be something to have an entire extra family here when the baby is born? Kris’ mom is planning to come up as soon as we can let her know that he’s coming…I hope we wouldn’t scare her off with all of this. All the activity and extra children running around could be labor inducing, so maybe it’s a good thing. We shall see. If it were anyone but family I would not take this on, but I really want them here and I know that Timothy and Kristy will have mercy on my belly and help with all the boys as much as possible. If things get too chaotic I’ll send them up to Becky’s for a while.

So, this week I’ll be preparing rooms for guests and hopefully getting rid of this stack of donation items that is quickly filling up my living room. Tomorrow is a big work day for us here as there is nothing on the agenda and we will just stay home and accomplish great things. I’m very excited about it all. I just hope those crazy bunk beds get here soon. Mid August was our last word from the store, apparently the manufacturer is waiting on parts. I’m hoping for some miraculous early arrival though.

  1. It would be kind of neat to have him born while everyone was here, wouldn’t it? I’m in shock over how soon that is. Eeek.

  2. That is very brave of Tim and Kristy to travel all that way with a newborn.

I hope you have a great visit and I’m voting for early labor too!

  3. you are not allowed to have Aron until I can come in mid-September! i have work commitments that will make it hard to come before the 7th of September so keep your legs closed tight!
