Hit the Week Running

I like to start Mondays off right. Today was a good start. Kris woke up early and seemed to be ready for work before 6:15. I usually wake up between 5:15 and 5:45 but didn’t this morning and woke up after Kris was almost ready. Since we were both awake, I turned the lights on and stripped the bed, got the sheets in the laundry and sorted the rest of the dirties. I got the boys breakfast ready before they got up and had it on the table for them. Then got my own and will be ready to go soon. When I have a Monday that’s full of productive accomplishments I like to refer to it as a “Hot Monday”. It just sets of the rest of the week right. I haven’t had a “Hot Monday” in a long time. In fact most of this pregnancy has afforded me more low charged Mondays than anything.

Friday night Kris was gone to Promise Keepers which he has described as “Excellent” and “well done.” He went about 10 years ago and said that it has definitely improved since then. The boys and I hung out with popcorn and a movie that night. It was nice, but I missed him. He got back late Friday and was gone again for the rest of the event on Saturday until around 2:00 or so. The boys and I ran errands and got some shopping done. I had planned to get some groceries but that always has to wait until our last stop and by then we were all so exhausted I just skipped it. We did get a few things accomplished on our little outing but we once again spent money on lunch and interrupted nap time. We had incredible weather over the weekend. It was around 87 degrees I think and somewhat breezy. When Kris got home we all just sort of laid around for a good while, trying to catch our collective breath. Sunday was good, aside from Ivan falling on his face on the way out the doors after service. He bloodied his upper lip and looks a little pitiful but was ready for action soon after.

We decided to take the boys to see the miniature train exhibit at 100 Oaks Mall. It’s only open on Sundays so this was one of the few opportunities we’ve had to do it. We ate a satisfactory lunch at Sonic and then saw the trains. We did a lot of shopping after that but most of what we accomplished was ruling out what we don’t want. That’s okay I guess, it’s cheaper than finding what you want, that’s for sure. We did buy some sheets for the boys new beds. We were going to by coordinating comforters but decided to wait, as the boys hate being covered anyway, it’s just something for looks and not something they need. We can worry about that later.

We did stop for groceries this time and basically just got some things to make smoothies for dinner. I love smoothies for dinner. I also had a some cheese cubes to go with it. What could be better?

So all of this activity led to a good night’s sleep and that good start to the day I mentioned earlier. Now let’s see if we can keep the trend going and get lots done today. We have another busy week in terms of being gone three out of five weekday evenings. Lot’s of church stuff. It’s all good. The more active I am the faster the time elapses before baby comes. I am 32 weeks today!

  1. Hot Mondays are GREAT. Mine was not so hot as you know, but it’s getting better. Give Ivan’s boo boo a big kiss from us 🙂
