Everyday Life

Attempts at Living

I’m attempting to come to life again. The nausea and weakness due to headache and dizziness is so defeating and I’ve tried to work through it but I have felt like an invalid the past week and I’m so tired of it. Naps and hamburgers have been the best help in curbing these symptoms but I can’t always have naps and hamburgers and sometimes they don’t help. Keeping my tummy full definitely helps but when nothing sounds at all appetizing (except hamburgers) it’s difficult to make that happen. Yesterday, I had to go get groceries so I stopped in at Orbit and asked about some ginger for my tummy, they were able to give me some chewable tablets by Solaray and also recommended a yummy ale (Reed’s Original Ginger Brew) of which I bought one bottle and promptly drank up to my tummy’s delight. Now I’m not the world’s biggest ginger fan, but I do enjoy it and it has seemed to help if I stay on top of it. After visiting Orbit I went to Publix and in walking through the tea and coffee aisle noticed a Twinings product that also seems to help. It’s a Lemon and Ginger herbal tea and it makes my mouth all tingly when I drink it. So I’m just all full of ginger joy right now. I hope that I don’t grow tired of it because it really does seem to help.

I would have put at least two links with that paragraph to further illustrate my finds, but for some reason I can’t do links today. I’ll have to ask my IT guy if he can fix it. Until then, little pictures will have to do.

I almost got my kitchen cleaned yesterday with my newfound energy and over-all happy feeling and have felt a bit more like I can possibly complete a load of laundry today. Whoo Hoo!

  1. oh mary, i am so sorry you are sick. i totally know how it feels, totally. i hope all of those things you found today help you to start feeling better and also i hope your morning sickness only lasts the first 12 weeks and not the entire 40.

  2. I’m sorry you’re feeling so yucky but I’m glad that the ginger stuff is working for you. I hope you feel much better soon.

  3. You KNOW I know how you feel. I can’t say anything ever truly worked for me except sleep, because you can’t feel nauseous when you’re asleep. But morning sickness, or not, I’ll have to look out for that tea! Sounds great.

  4. Tisra – I also picked up a Lipton tea that sounded delicious…and it is: Vanilla, Caramel truffle. It’s a flavored black tea and it smells so good!
