As I was updating Owen’s blog this morning a question was brought to mind. Do any of you remember a time in the late 80’s when it was popular to wear glasses that had no prescription? You could buy them at the mall and they simply had plain glass in the frames and were solely worn for looks. What I’m trying to remember is what we called them. They had some sort of name, like Mood Glasses or something but it wasn’t that. Do any of you remember this?
A soul that walks on water leaves no footprints, but will make waves."
Can’t say that I do. Maybe it was a Michigan thing!
That happened in the 60’s too and back then we called them Granny glasses.
I remember them too but I don’t remember having a name for them.
I used to have a pair– they were given to me, but I don’t remember them having a special name. I think we just called them my fake glasses.
I’m pretty sure we called them “attitude glasses”. Maybe it was a Michigan thing. Now that one of your cousins from Michigan has finally read this, it can be answered.
