Praise the Lord, Owen does not have Chicken Pox. He has an allergy to Amoxicillin.
Had a busy day yesterday finding that out. It was a good day for the most part. I didn’t accomplish a lot around the house but I got to go to Walmart and didn’t have to worry about spreading a virus around. I thought it was odd that I didn’t get more funny looks but maybe they were all behind my back.
I made Owen lay down for a while after we got back and had lunch. He and Ivan both slept and I was able to calm my nerves a bit by quilting in the quiet. I should have been washing dishes, my kitchen is still a mess, but that would not have been as therapeutic.
Kris and the boys and I met up at a furniture store after he got off work and the four of us looked at desks. I am planning to move my computer and all my newly organized life down to the kitchen so I’ll need a desk that can be seen by the general public. Kris would like to move his office down to the front room so he also needs a desk. He has been using fold up tables for the past two years. They work but not as efficiently as a piece of furniture designed for the task. We got home a little late so I had to rush around to get dinner on but man was I glad I made it. I love soup. I made something new several weeks ago and I made it again last night even better. It’s Hawaiian chicken soup. I use Coconut milk in it along with regular milk and Owen just loves the way it tastes. He scooped a spoonful of just the creamy broth and said “we need to have this milk with Cheerios.”
I have enough for my lunch today too but it may have to wait until tomorrow. I may pack sandwiches and take the boys to the park for lunch.
Two of the neighbor boys are here for a little while and I can hear Owen having a blast in the play room. I took one toy away that he and Hayden were fighting over and he cried. Good…that’s the reaction I was looking for. I made it known right off the bat that any toy that is fought over will be MINE! No 2nd chances.
Gotta Go…Ivan is crying.
I didn’t think it looked like Chicken Pox and when you said he was finishing up antibiotics…we have been there. Bella is allergic to the suspension of amoxicillin (sp?).
Glad he will recover soon.
I would like that recipe if you don’t mind. I love coconut milk.
Traci – I don’t really have a recipe but I’ll try to make one and see if it works.
So…you say the suspension of amoxicillin…is that why it is after the last dose that he reacts? I’ve never heard that.
I’m glad its not the chicken pox- they’re very inconvenient.
I’m also glad we couldn’t get together Saturday night since the girls came down with a stomach bug and Travis and I have followed suit. I’d hate for you guys to have gotten that.
Mary, I think what Traci is referring to is the substance that the amox. is “suspended” in. It is the non-active liquid that is a vehicle for the medicine. The term commonly used is “liquid suspension”. So, that shouldn’t have anything to do with *when* the allergic reaction occurs.
well, you already know my story with Dylan and Septra…got the hives after he finished the medicine…I still wonder why that is myself.
Thanks for watching the boys for me this morning, it really helped me out.
Oh and for office furniture…I don’t know if you are looking for just simply a desk for Chris, but we found Barry’s at JCPenney of all places. It is very nice and it was half as much as the stuff I didn’t like at Ashley Furniture….
Thanks Tisra. She worded it better than I would have.
