We’re Home

new friendsIt’s so nice to be home. We had a nice week with the family and we love going away but it is always nice to be home. We pulled in sometime after 10 last night and the boys were both completely passed out in the back seat. Owen with his head on my pillow and Ivan still accompanied by the little stuffed puppy dog that Grandma bought. She bought it for my little beggar boy, Owen, but he was so sweet and said that Ivan could play with it so that we didn’t have to listen to him cry. Smart boy.

This past weekend we were in North Florida for the Kelso family reunion. Every April we get together with whoever can make the trip to Dowling Park near Live Oak, Florida. The Suwannee River runs through the complex where we all stay and yes, we were way down upon it, as the song goes. I don’t really have time to go into a lot of detail on our weekend because I have bags to empty and a fridge to fill. I must get to the grocery store so we can eat. Let me just say it was a great time. We were sleep deprived and there are a lot of discomforts to overcome in the house we stay in, the noise, the beds, the shower heads that are less than 5 feet from the tub floor, but it is easy to overcome because we feel so refreshed by being with family. zonkedWe play games, talk, listen, learn, pray, sing and of course eat together. Often there is a member of the family to get acquainted with who has been unable to make it before and of course having a new baby among the bunch is very exciting. Ivan was the littlest Kelso this year and he thoroughly enjoyed it. He loves attention…can’t imagine where he gets that…and he had smiles for everyone. Owen is big enough now that he can play with some of the older kids. He had a blast with Corey and Brittany who are 5 years old and love to play on the playground too. But here I am going into detail when I said I wouldn’t. There are pictures…lots of pictures but I won’t be working on resizing them all today. Just these two of our boys in the back seat snoozing. I think I mentioned I have a lot to do. More later.

  1. Glad a good time was had and that the boys traveled well. Family reunions are almost always a good time.
