We are in the midst of a very busy week and other than all of us being a little tired, it’s going pretty well. Monday I got started on some cleaning and was able to accomplish quite a bit toward my goal of having the house ready for company once again. Kris’ mom is arriving on Saturday and I’d like for her to have a clean house to stay in while she visit’s her grandsons. I had an eye appointment on Monday afternoon and once again my prescription has stayed the same. I’m pleased and may shop for some new frames just for fun.
Tuesday was Valentine’s Day. Kris’ car has been causing problems so in order to take that to the garage and get him home in time to go out for dinner he worked from home. I was able to get a few more cleaning projects tackled and had the boys ready to go to the Fadely’s by 4:45. Kris and I dropped them off and went to Ellendale’s for dinner. They had a special menu just for Valentine’s Day and it was tasty. It was a nice experience and I’m glad we did it. I had tried to make the reservations for some time and couldn’t get through on the phone. So when I finally did speak to someone, I had to make the reservations a bit early. This turned out to be the best thing as most of the crowd arrived around 6 or 6:30 and when we left there were people lining the walls waiting to be seated. We left there and headed to Opry Mills to hang out for a little while before picking up the boys. It was fun to be able to walk freely and not have to push a stroller or answer the same question three or four hundred times. We saw a few people that we knew from Cornerstone and just enjoyed ourselves along the way.
Yesterday, we took Kris to work, as his car was still in the garage, and then took the long way to Walmart, stopping at Chick-fil-a for a late breakfast before our shopping. I got groceries and then rushed a hungry baby and restless two year old back to the house. As I was unloading groceries I noticed that Owen was grunting a bit. He announced that he was poopy and I asked him if he wanted to use the toilet…he said “no” of course, but this time I decided to force the issue a bit. I ran him to the potty and was able to get him there in time to do the deed but my was he freaked out. I encouraged him and offered the candy bribe. He was struggling not to “go” at first but when I proved to him that I actually did have Hershey Kisses to reward him he relaxed and proudly announced he was done. Success! He was very proud of himself and got two Kisses (the chocolate kind) as well as a big hug from mommy. Last night was church and we had “Cornerstone Idol” in the choir rehearsal room. Pastor Sarah, our new worship leader wanted to hear what some of our individual choir members have to offer in the way of soloist potential so several of us signed up to show our vocal wares and though we were all a bit nervous we had a great time entertaining one another and you couldn’t ask for a more supportive audience. Everyone got thunderous applause. We’ll see what comes of it. I did get a few ideas for people I could use for the Night of Laughter later this year.
Today has been busy again with taking Kris into the office this morning and then a trip to Home Depot and Walmart once again (just for curtain rings). Owen has had lunch and both boys are napping at the moment. Tonight is the Leadership dinner at church and I have a long meeting afterward so it will be another late night. I’m looking forward to it though as it is a planning meeting for the Women’s seminar the Ladies Board is hosting this Spring.
I feel happy. Tired…but happy.
Seriously busy- no wonder you’re tired.
I’m tired just from reading how much you have done!
