Snow?

Yesterday afternoon I walked downstairs and noticed it had been raining. I was in a hurry trying to get the boys cleaned up and ready for church. I didn’t spend a lot of time mulling over rain and didn’t look at the radar as I like to do when the weather changes to see what we’re in for. A little later I looked outside again and was surprised to see thicker drops that looked a little like snow. It was more of a mix than anything but it crossed my mind that they may cancel church.

Kris came home and we hurried through dinner, encouraging Owen to talk less and eat more, trying not to be impatient and then cleaning up our dishes quickly so we could get our shoes on and go. We headed out the door and into the sloppy streets. We hadn’t gotten far when Kris’ phone rang…church is canceled Pastor Rick said. Well, that was almost good timing. At least we were still close to home. I thought of the bright side almost immediately…the boys are clean and fed, I have a bottle already made for Ivan…lets go home and play games and relax. So we did. It was a nice family night together. I even went back out to go get some ice cream…don’t tell Owen, but Kris and I had ice cream cones after he went to bed. Yummy Moose Tracks.

The snow is almost completely gone already. I have a busy day ahead…I need to run to the grocery store one more time for ketchup since I forgot to get it last night. I’m making meatloaf tonight for the sewing party. Maybe someone else can bring it…I’ll pay for it if they do. That would be great since that’s the only thing I need. Any volunteers?

  1. Ha. I forgot the ketchup the last time I was at the store too, so we’re too low for me to be of any help. I could pick some up on †he way over- it would be a quick stop without kids. Let me know.
