I Need to Get Moving

ubiquitous picture of ivanMy mom used to say “I need to get moving” a lot. Whenever she had been idle for too long. I am saying it this morning as I am still in my pajamas at 11:00 and have done little besides eat breakfast and play with my babies. I’m not critical of this…it’s Saturday and I want to relax with the boys and not rush anything. There are a few things to do however, so I need to get moving.

Dad and Joel will be heading to Michigan either tomorrow or Monday. Tim and Kristy will be flying out tomorrow morning and things are going to be a little quieter around here. I guess then we’ll start the count down to Becky’s baby coming.

Last night we all (my family and some friends) met at the mall to hang out. I asked Eric and Tisra to show up and surprise Kris for his birthday (which isn’t until next week) and they did. We had a nice time eating dinner and birthday cake in the food court and then walking around trying to keep track of all the kids and strollers. We were quite a sight with one pregnant lady 5 strollers, a wheel chair plus the 6 kids on foot. The kids seemed to have a great time and though we were all pretty tired, we enjoyed ourselves. Eric bought Kris a few races at the Nascar place and Tisra and I took the kids to the bookstore. Grant proudly pushing Owen’s stroller. He did a really good job, he payed attention and really took his responsibility seriously. What a little man.

Thursday night I went up to Springfield and spent some time with LaDonna. We had such a nice time hanging out at a little coffee shop and working on some hand projects. We talked about a wide range of subjects and both felt so thankful for the opportunity to just relax and talk. Her friend Missy joined us for a little while which was nice, and it was open mic night so we got to hear some local talent share their vocal wares. I had Ivan with me and he did well, sleeping most of the time.

That’s all I feel like writing this morning. My family is tempting me with play time and tickle wars. I need to get moving.

  1. We should do that again some time soon, but next time I’ll make the drive! I really enjoyed myself as well.

How many people in total were at the mall walking around? It really does sound like a sight to see!

Happy Birthday Kris! Hope you had a good time last night.

  2. That baby doesn’t even look like a month early little guy. He already looks huge! And beautiful. Glad y’all had fun at the mall and at Talents.
