These boys are making me so proud. Owen is starting to come out of his little attitude funk. I think his turning two and gaining a brother as well as being shipped around to other homes for a week had a bit of an effect on his demeanor but he has been happier since yesterday afternoon and I’m hoping we are through with the whiny stuff. Ivan is staying awake a little more this morning and sits happily and quietly in the chair (propped on a pillow) while I get Owen’s breakfast and have a little cereal myself. At the moment he is laying on my pillow on the bed while I type just looking around him. He can’t see a lot at this stage but what he does see must keep him thinking because he is quite content.
Yesterday, we made our trip to Wal Mart. They both did really well. I took it pretty slow and though it was busy, it wasn’t too packed in the store and we made it in and out without getting stressed out. I forgot a few things even though I had a list and I couldn’t find a couple of things that I need so probably tomorrow I’ll have to go out again. Today we are staying in and making cookies. Owen doesn’t know that yet but he is going to have so much fun. Gingerbread cut out cookies…makes you want to come over doesn’t it?
Just to catch up a bit I’ll tell you about our Sunday School class get together on Sunday as well. We had three couples come to the house, order pizza and then play games. It was very nice and we really enjoyed it. We had a new couple in class Sunday morning and they were able to come to the get together that night. We now have 5 couples, three of which come faithfully and we’ll see about the other two…they are fairly new so we’ll pray they are consistent.
Okay…Ivan lost his paci and seems to be having a little difficulty staying happy now. I’ll have to go. It was so peaceful while it lasted.
Yes. I do want to bake cookies at your house. Cut out gingerbread? Few things sound nicer on a day like today with Christmas two weeks away. Honestly, I’ve never done the gingerbread cookie thing. I’ll have to look up a recipe.
Wow, what a coincidence, Chloe and I are planning to make gingerbread cookies too! I found a recipe last night on all recipes and found one without molasses. It got 5 stars so I think we’ll try that one. It’s supposed to not be as strong as typical gingerbread, I’m open to suggestions though.
So nice that Owen is out of his “funk” I hate it when they’re like that.
I hope you have good luck with the gingerbread. I have had terrible results, dough too sticky then too thick. Blah, blah. I bought Pillsbury cheaters gingerbread. We may do that this afternoon! The whole new brother thing is hard on a big brother. He will come back to his cheery self soon. And then go back to cranky. That’s what happens when you dethrone the Emperor! Just ask Emma. She was horrible during her third year because I had not consulted her Highness about bringing her sister into the world. How dare I.
