Unjustified in Waiting

After reading Amber’s comment and talking to another friend that Kris works with (both have had kids break bones with little to no symptoms) we both felt we could not justify waiting to see what happens regarding Owen’s foot. We had prayed about it previously and asked God to make it obvious if we needed to get it checked out and we now feel that He has done just that. So…Kris came home from work early and took Owen to a local doctor just down the road from the house. She looked at his foot and though it doesn’t look broken to her either, she wanted us to take him for x-rays just in case. They ran back by the house first to pick me up (Joey had left by the time they were done and I was free to go) and then off to Hermitage Imaging for foot and ankle pictures. We won’t know anything until morning but we feel confident that God is taking care of Owen and his little foot. It’s amazing how much stress your child’s pain can put on you. Kris has had a stomach ache today and my back is hurting. I’m sure we will all feel better very soon.

We will keep our blogs current and post when we know something tomorrow.

  1. I certainly didn’t mean to panic anyone, but sometimes it’s best to get a professional opinion. I’ve had Madison in for x-rays three times and only the first was actually a break. But, since we were so surprised by the first one actually being a break, I don’t take chances with it anymore 🙂

  2. Praying that the x-rays were only just a big ol’ lousy waste of time and that they don’t show anything! Sweet little Owen, we love you.

  3. Amber – We haven’t panicked. We just didn’t think it wise to continue waiting. We had the stomach ache and back ache more from not doing anything than from doing something.

  4. Sometimes it’s so stressful being a parent. I feel like I’m always freaking out about something with the kids. You want to do the right thing and at the same time you don’t want to have them in the Dr’s office all the time.

I feel for you and hope all is well soon.

  5. I know all will work out. *hugs* Poor little Owen. But at least it’s his ankle and not his whole leg. Gotta find the bright side of things. I am sure he will be fine.
