The Big Boy Bed

Owen spent his first night in the big boy bed last night. He cried at first at the idea but after I spent some time singing to him and talking through it, praying for his dreams, as well as the dreams of everyone he knows, he allowed me to leave the room without a fuss. He slept well and was very happy in the morning because he could get out of bed on his own.

His crib will remain set up in his room, waiting patiently for baby brother and he’ll get used to the idea of not using it soon. I also put my little bureau in there and started loading it with baby clothes. Owen will continue to use the baby wardrobe since he’s used to it and it fits his things so well. I have a lot of ideas for the walls and stuff yet but some if it will cost money and a lot of it will take time, so it will be a little by little process. I find that fun.

I was having a really good morning, but then Joey threw up all over me. Oh well.

The sun is out and it’s hot again today…a cold front is on the way though…I look forward to it.

  1. I had no idea it was hot yesterday. I didn’t set foot out of the house once. Not even to get the mail. Today will be different and we will enjoy the sunshine. Can you beleive I went to your house last week for the sewing party and didn’t check out the boys’ room? I could kick myself.

  2. I didn’t know there was a sewing party last week, OOPS! I guess I’m supposed to check that part of your site. I couldn’t have come anyway since we were changing apartments.

So exciting with the new bed! I’m glad he likes it and he should have enough time to get used to it before baby #2 arrives.

  3. Mom – Yes, he was already much more comfortable with the bed at nap time today and at bedtime tonight.

I was hoping you would like it. 🙂
