Sticking to the List

Last night on our way home from a very busy day I told Kris that with a week like we have in front of us I need to be absolutely firm about making lists and sticking to them. It is the only way I know of to be efficient with my time. So far this morning I’ve only done one thing on my list but I feel like I have a big burden off because I went to the grocery store. I took both boys and we were out the door before 7:30 and back and unloaded by 8:15. That will encourage me a lot to have that job done for the day. My list is made and I’m going to begin tackling it in mere moments.

We had a nice weekend and though we have been and will be very busy I am excited about all that we are into. Our Sunday School class met for pizza and football yesterday and then we had Grace’s Birthday party. We had a long meeting with Images (soon to be Tandem Ministries) on Saturday morning and got a lot accomplished there. Owen had a blast with the Jayna and the Webers, but has now begun asking “why?” every time I tell him something. He doesn’t even know what he’s saying he just picked it up from Jayna.

Today…I really don’t have anything too pressing. I need to make phone calls for the night of laughter, I need to do a lot of cleaning because my house is beginning to smell bad, and I am going to quilt. The cleaning is the main thing. I am way behind and company is coming so I am dividing things up like one bathroom per day…mop floors…vacuum downstairs…vacuum upstairs…laundry etc. I have been pretty productive about making meals ahead…I have three pizza’s, two jars of soup, some ground beef fried for spaghetti, and a casserole in there. So when we leave Owen with Kris’ family for the weekend I won’t feel guilty about not cooking for them. Dad will be here on Friday and will stay at our place until Kris’ family gets here. We’ll just change the sheets and pretty much be ready for them all.

Tomorrow night we have a technical rehearsal for the night of laughter. I met our sound man last night and he is so nice…I have talked to his wife several times and didn’t know that they were a couple until recently. They are both the type of people who you feel like you can relax with and trust completely upon meeting them. I’m sure they have a dark side somewhere but that’s the impression you get. Anyway…once we have our rehearsal I think we’ll be ready to go on Friday.

Time to get busy and start checking off that list…this (blogging) wasn’t on it so I’ve swerved already, but I like to rattle on and on about my life. Hope I didn’t bore anyone.
