Happenings

Kris and I are both still waking up. Why couldn’t it be Friday? We both had the same thought…is it only Tuesday? I guess we both just had long days yesterday. I felt like I didn’t accomplish nearly what I wanted to yesterday in that I didn’t do any quilting or painting but I was busy…really busy…all day.

Joey is teething and seems to be popping them out one right after another. The poor kid is uncomfortable and lets me know whenever he can. I did a lot of running after boys yesterday and soothing pains large and small. Owen and Joey always have to get used to having each other in the house on Mondays so they are easily frustrated and need extra attention.

I sat down for a while and made what seemed like an endless list of phone calls for the night of laughter. Everything is still going well. I am so pleased with the way people are taking their responsibilities and running with them. It makes my job so much easier and I just feel so honored that they take me and this event seriously enough to do the work. I love these people. I hope that you have already marked the date on your calendars if you live in town. September 30th! And…Yes, there is childcare! All the way up to 5th grade. I was so pumped about this. It turns out that there is going to be a men’s ministry meeting at the same time that evening and so they almost have to have childcare. Yippee!!!!

I got the front yard mowed yesterday evening too and I don’t know when the back will get done but I am in no hurry. Until it rains again I just don’t like cutting my grass down to it’s yellow base.

Today, Joey is still fussy and seems to have a very nasty runny nose issue from the teething, but Owen is as happy as I’ve seen him in a long time. I am hoping that alone will make things easier. I imagine my list will include a bit more of the same from yesterday but hopefully I’ll be able to pick up needle and thread as well as a paint roller and make some much needed progress. I love progress.

  1. Even if you don’t have your license back by then I will drive up there that morning and pick you guys up. You can just spend the night and then hang out with Kris and I the next day when we go to Eagleville to an ultra-light fly in…would Gabe enjoy that?

  2. I hope you make progress on your “girl” quilt. I’m excited to see the finished product on that one. I’m also excited to see your enormous quilt coming to an end as well. If you give it away, it will be strange to visit your house and not see that quilt there anymore. It’s become part of what I expect at your home.

Keep reminding me about the Night of Laughter. I do want to go.

  3. I will have another quilt in as soon as this one comes out. Not my “girl” quilt or as I like to call it “Sundress quilt” but one that belongs to a friend from church. I’ve heard it’s beautiful.

  4. That sounds like a lot of fun! Something nice to look forward to. 😀 But I will also remain positive that my license will be alright by then anyway and maybe I’ll still go to the fly-in. Hehe.
