I wanted to get out of the house last night and Kris needed pants for work so we went to the mall. We strictly shopped for Kris which is not something I normally do but felt that maybe if I concentrated on his needs a little bit, we would be more productive and I wouldn’t feel so selfish when I find something for me too. I did look at a few things for Owen and there are some cute little shirts out there for little men, but again…we weren’t shopping for Owen. I figure once we get Kris dapper again, we can work on Owen…we’ll need some things before the cold weather rolls in for sure…poor kid only has one pair of shoes right now and they are sandals. This is obviously not a problem right now and he could care less. So…back to Kris. We found two pair of pants and two shirts at Old Navy that look really nice and fit his work wear criteria. He will also be able to wear them to church. He still needs some new shoes and some socks and a nicer belt, but then he’ll be good to go for quite a while. He is so good about taking care of his things he gets bored with them long before they really wear out. Me…I’m rough on clothes. Maybe it’s that weed pulling and baby spit up! Ya Think? Hopefully we’ll be able to shop for me again after Owen is dressed for winter. I got to do some shopping when we were in Florida so I have hit the rotation.
Amber e-mailed me this morning to inform me of Southwest posting $39.00 flights again! The deal is for flights running from August 30 to November 17 so this is perfect for us to get Kris’ parents up here the week of Owen’s birthday and maybe to get me and Owen down there for the Business Objects conference that Kris will be going to in November as well. Yippee!
I know what you mean about the clothes. But, we’ve talked about that before. Up and down on sizes, babies…
I’ve never needed to go anywhere within the 39 dollar deal range. It’s a great price and wish I could take advantage of it. $39 to London would be nice.
How fun would it be if the girls could go on a weekend trip? I can even afford $39.00. Corpus Christi, Portland, Chicago, Niagara Falls Oh…that would be fun!
I think all Mama’s go through clothes much faster then daddies. Right now I don’t want to buy any new clothes that fit, since I am loosing weight. Why buy something that will fit me now, but won’t next summer? Hopefully by the end of this coming winter I will have to buy clothes as I won’t have anything to wear!
Kris and I have talked about allowing me to just update my maternity wardrobe a bit. Most of my stuff is hand-me-downs so a lot of it is a mix of things that don’t match. I just need a few tie together items so that I can wear more of it.
The $39 is without taxes and other fees and it’s only one way, but it is still a great deal.
Mama’s go thru clothes faster except when daddies pour concrete and drill and saw and other clothing depleting activities!
Yeah…we’re married to office daddies. My dad was the same way…he would buy work shirts at goodwill so that he wouldn’t feel bad about burning holes in them while he was welding. However…he wore the same suit to church for years and years.
My dad worked in construction and Mom would buy the button up shirts at Goodwill sometimes, but always new dark denim work jeans from Sears and high quality leather boots from Red Wing shoes. That way, they’d last for ages. I think my dad just uses old dress shirts now for his button up work shirts because I’m certain he wouldn’t be caught dead in a Goodwill. Funny man.
I went shopping last night as well and was drooling over all the seriously clearanced items that were available. Alas, I love shopping but not window shopping!
Can you fly in November, being due in December? I thought that you’d be too far along to fly. You are due in December right? I can’t keep up. I know too many pregnant people right now.
I haven’t checked yet, but I think I can fly before 8 months. Which I would be…our trip would be at the beginning of November and my due date is the end of December. I will make sure before we book anything though.
Hey we just got tickets…3 of us for under 300! round-trip. We’ll see you for Owen’s birthday!
