We had such a beautiful weekend. Saturday was just perfect with breezes and sunshine and a high temperature of only 80 degrees. Yesterday was just a little warmer and of course it was Father’s Day.
We didn’t spend a lot of money on our dad’s this year but we spent time making each of them a video and of course cards were sent. Owen and I picked out a card for Kris and made him some oatmeal cookies. Kris didn’t want to do anything special so we stayed home yesterday and just enjoyed the day. Owen and I took naps in the afternoon and Kris worked on the computer, catching up on a few things. When Owen got up from his nap I gave him a “smoothie-sicle”. I had made myself a blueberry and strawberry smoothie for breakfast on Saturday and put what didn’t fit in my glass into popsicle molds. I made four all together and I ate two of them on Saturday. Kris had one and there was one left for Owen. He and I sat out on the back deck for a while as he devoured his first popsicle. Kris came out after a bit and got some pictures. As you see…
Today, Joey is back and has been a perfect angel except for the last 10 minutes or so of our trip to Wal-Mart. He cried quite a bit because he was tired and by the time we got home he was fast asleep. He is still asleep and Owen is too. leaving me with a few minutes to weed-eat the yard and post a blog entry. My right hand is shaking and it makes it hard to type. Whenever I use the weed-eater, the weight of it makes my hand and arm so tired that I can’t hold things steady in that hand for the next few hours. Don’t worry I’ll use two hands to hold the kids.
I have made my list and the day is beginning well. I’ve already accomplished several things that I thought would take a lot longer than they have. It’s good to have a productive Monday…it makes the rest of the week seem so much better.
The smoothie pop sounds wonderful!
They were pretty yummy. Next I will try an adaptation of an Orange Julius popsicle.
I just showed Chloe the picture and she said “Is that Owen eating dirt?” LOL!!!
Other than the color I could see it looking like a rock or a big clump of mud…that’s funny.
