Everyday Life

Helper

I’ve let Owen hand me clean dishes from the dishwasher several times and I put them away. It takes a little longer this way because he only hands me one thing at a time and congratulates himself with each dish, but it teaches him to help and I want him to get used to being a part of cleaning and chores throughout the house. Yesterday, he helped me unload and then I was loading a new batch and got distracted. I left the dishwasher door open and the bottom rack with the silverware pulled out. I was upstairs and heard some clanging around down there and figured he was into the dishwasher. By the time I got downstairs again…I didn’t see anything out of place so I figured he must have been playing with his measuring cups or something. This morning however, I opened up the silverware drawer and found about 6 pieces of dirty silverware. They were up in the front of the drawer and not down in with the clean so it wasn’t a big deal. I had to laugh. He had put them in the right drawer and closed the drawer again. What a good helper.

Kris is gone to hang out with his flying friends this morning. He left around 5:30 and won’t be back until around 2:00. I hope he will have a great time and get to go up a few times. He is excited about getting some pictures from up in the air. If we had planned a little further in advance we could have gone down there and camped over night, but we didn’t really talk about it until yesterday afternoon and we were too tired to try and think of what we would need to do to prepare for that.

I was very tired yesterday afternoon. I should have eaten more I think. I get so hungry and drained of protein that I don’t feel like I can even fix dinner, and even if I make myself fix dinner I get frustrated with every little thing that goes wrong or interrupts and it seems to take forever. I get this way even when I’m not pregnant but it is magnified with pregnancy. I think it’s a blood sugar thing but I know that I’m not truly hypoglycemic or anything…I may be borderline or something…I don’t know. Anyway…Kris took me to Bellacino’s for pizza and I was happy. Owen was too. He has gotten so excited about pizza. Anything we serve him that is round and can be eaten with the hands…like quesadillas…he insists that it’s pizza.

I know you all must love the way I go from this morning to yesterday back to this morning and then back to yesterday again. I type it the way I remember it…okay. Maybe I should outline my blogs before typing them in. I don’t want to.

  1. Yesterday, I was talking to one of the ultralight pilots about packing up his glider and getting it out again. He said “It takes about 45 minutes to pack it up, or an hour and a half if I have help”.

  2. Chloe “helped” me when she was here and I loved every minute of it! I miss her sweet face and voice…..
