Already we are seeing the differences in our children. Yesterday we had our first appointment with Kathy (our midwife). We were able to hear the heartbeat of our little one and it was exciting to hear that very real sign that there is a reason I’m so tired. I remember when we heard Owen’s heart and how quickly and easily she found it. I laid down she pulled out the little monitor and after a little moving around we heard him loud and clear. He didn’t move around a lot and we were able to listen as long as we wanted. This time…was different. She looked and looked, and finally we heard the little rascal but only for a moment. Again she searched…and for a few brief seconds we heard the rhythm. It was as if he/she were hiding from us. I know that all kids are different, that the second is usually very different if not opposite from the first and I know that we won’t know what we have until the baby gets here. I guess I’m just anxious to know how different and if it was shyness or mischievousness that kept the heartbeat away from our ears. What’s going on down there and who are you?
A soul that walks on water leaves no footprints, but will make waves."
I can’t wait to meet him/her!
After having 3 I can say with certainty that what they are like in the womb is indicative of their personalities.
I’m excited to meet this one, love those Christmas babies!
Do you know when we’ll know whether to expect a boy or girl?
With Owen, we had our ultrasound at 19 weeks if I remember right. We are 12 weeks now, so sometime in the next 7 to 10 weeks we’ll find out.
