The alarm sounded at 5:00 this morning and I was up and running. I had my bags packed and everything was ready to go except for me…and Owen. I decided at the last minute to bring him along. Henry had called yesterday afternoon and said that the minivan was too full to fit everything in so we had to upgrade to a 15 passenger van which allowed more space for Owen and whatever luggage he may need. You would think that this would allow a lot of extra space but believe it or not…there is still no room to lie down in the van…actually there would be room but it would require a lot of moving around. Oh well. With or without Owen I would be in the captain’s chair in the front of the van as I am now, with the laptop in my lap (how appropriate) attempting to update my blog.
Owen has been very well behaved thus far. Only a little fussing when he got too warm at the beginning of our journey. We stopped for lunch at a Subway somewhere between Louisville and Cincinnati. Pierce and Owen were both well behaved and the nice lady working at the counter told each of them what good boys they were, even giving Owen a kiss on the cheek before we left.
We are now on I-71 about 5 miles from our exit onto I-75 toward Dayton. We should be a little over an hour away from our final parking space.

We arrived a little over an hour ago and have moved into a small room that serves as a private suite for events at the Nutter Center. It has a big cushy couch and a wall of windows that allow you to have full view of the stage. The facility is large and the event expects to host around 5,000 youth for the weekend. We will probably just make use of the backstage greenroom instead of going to the hotel before we begin the evening activities. This is fine with me as it allows me to freshen up without feeling rushed to get back to the venue at a certain time.
Owen has only napped about an hour all day. He was miserable the last hour of driving and whined most of that time. That always makes me grit my teeth. We’re all getting a little hungry and are all tired but I know that once we get close to the stage we will all feel that rush that keeps you moving and smiling.
I’m hoping to get more pictures but so far the room has been too dark to capture the size of the room and the light display. Maybe once I get downstairs I can get some better shots.
I’m tired.

In the hotel. We had a good time tonight. Brent and Henry and I performed David and Goliath and the kids really responded well. Later, Brent and I performed Thy Kingdom Come which went well in terms of performance but not so well in that the kids were not ready for it. They were just coming back from a break and were anticipating a concert to begin. I don’t think half of them even knew we were performing. Oh well, tomorrow will work better.
I’m exhausted and though there are pictures I want to include and links I’d like to hook you up to…I just don’t have the ambition. I’ll save all the fancy stuff for later.
Good Night.
