I ate Dirty Dan’s Lasagna at the leadership dinner last night. I didn’t enjoy it that much. I could have eaten before hand but it was free and I didn’t have to cook. So I ate it.
I am learning to knit. It’s fun. I had a book to teach me at one point but I can’t find it now and I could never get past the first lesson without being interrupted for a long period of time when I used the book in the past so I went on line and looked up the basic beginnings of it and now I’m off with it. I’m no Tisra, by any means, but I’m having a good time and hopefully I’ll learn more as I go. Right now I’m just trying to get my fingers used to the process. It’s so much different than crochet…I don’t know how people can get them confused. What’s so cool to me is watching this little scrap of fabric emerge beneath my needles and realize it looks just like what a sweater looks like…and I did it! I love that.
Owen’s is screaming for me…better go give him some love.
I was thinking of learning to knit this year too. Margery Gilson knows how so maybe she can teach me. I also found step-by-step beginner’s directions online, but I think it’s better if I have someone there with me. I need encouragement when I’m learning something new.
Dirty Dan…that’s funny!
First off, in San Diego there is an “establishment” called Dirty Dan’s and it has purple neon lighting (*ahem*), so that made me laugh.
Secondly, I am back from Dallas and we must get together and knit! Yay! Triple yay! Yay for knitters!
