So close to the end. I am the same weight again this morning. I am not discouraged but I’m hoping that by tomorrow morning I will have lost at least one more to hit the 10 pounds gone mark. I didn’t really have a goal for this induction diet but with 9 pounds gone it would be nice to round up to 10.
Our Valentine party turned out to be an unexpected success. No one came. Not even the couple that said they were definitely coming. The success came in the form of encouragement for Kris and I. Vanessa showed up and explained that Robby was sick in bed and could not come. She stuck around until after 4:00 as we got food ready and then packed food up after giving up on guests. She talked. She had ideas for us, compliments and a few stories to tell. Whether she knew it or not she left us feeling like our class was not failing after-all.
Much of the food I had prepared was inedible to Kris and I. We packed it up and took it over to our neighbor’s next door. They have four boys and we figured they could use the extra snacking material.
We also got a visit just before 7:00 last night from one of the couples from our class…And this is information to be specifically noted by Amy and Tisra. This couple were married last April, are pregnant with a boy and just bought a house in a neighborhood almost directly accross Lebanon Rd. from our neighborhood. They didn’t have a rocking chair and as I was getting Owen ready for bed the other night I was sitting on the floor beside the little ottoman glider in his room, the words from Luke 3:11 came into my head…”he that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.” Now at that point I had three rocking chairs…one in the living room, one in the bonus room and one in Owen’s room. I wasn’t trying to get rid of anything and in fact the one in Owen’s room I had just finished recovering to match the pillows and decor in his nursery. I asked Kris what he thought and then we called them and asked if they wanted it. They were very excited and came last night to pick it up. Tisra, I felt like I should throw in the pillows too. I hope you don’t mind me giving away your wonderful work. They will comfort another little boy who should arrive sometime between now and March 2nd. She’s already started dialating and is trying to unpack from a move last weekend and get a house ready for a baby. Hopefully they’ll feel good enough to be in Sunday School today.
That’s so sweet! It’s amazing what a blessing a rocking chair can be.
