Not Kristy

I’m done writing about Kristy for a while. She has upstaged me long enough. In fact the next time anything even remotely exciting happens in my life I’m going to pray that nothing, absolutely nothing, good or bad happens to her. First I have my first child and she goes and has her first child just a month later. Then…I’m near death in a hospital with a tubal pregnancy and she goes and gets herself caught in a tidal wave. Am I not allowed attention for more than a few days at a time?

Today…it is Owen who needs our sympathy. Poor boy is somewhat “puny” as they say in the South. He has a fever and I can tell that his glands are swollen some. I gave him some children’s Tylenol and he seemed to feel better. He is napping at the moment and I’m trying to pour water down his throat every chance I get. He still had his appetite at breakfast and was willing to play for a little while this morning, but for the most part he wanted to be in my lap and I didn’t mind at all. I don’t like it when he feels bad.

Tonight there is a choir social at church and I have been planning to go and may still go but I don’t know if I’ll take Owen or not. We’ll see how he feels and how the weather cooperates. It’s been so cold and damp I don’t really want to take him out in it. If I go I’ll only stay a short time and then get back home to possibly watch “The Return of the Jedi” with Kris. He got the trilogy on DVD for Christmas from his brothers and we’ve watched the first two. They are better than I remember and I’ve tried to convince Kris that I do want to watch them…I’m not just being a nice wife. I’m not sure if he believes me or not.

  1. I think Eric is planning on introducing Grant to Star Wars this weekend. For Eric’s sake, I hope Grant enjoys it.

  2. I’m sorry you’re feeling neglected but how about we pray that nothing exciting happens to either of you for a while. You know, no near death experiences etc.
