Scrooge is over

It’s finally over. The one thing I committed to and wish I hadn’t. I don’t mean to say that it was horrible or anything like that, I just mean that it was the one thing that put me over my limit on time and stress and that sort of thing. It was fun to perform and I think people really got a kick out of it. There were 20 some people who accepted Christ because of the musical so I can’t say it was just for fun or just a show. I take no credit for these salvations…anyone could have filled my shoes but I was there and I got to be a part of something good. I am glad for that.

Today is Monday and it is so nice to not have to hurry with daily chores so that I can be to the church for a rehearsal. Owen is taking his afternoon nap and I’m sure he’ll sleep for quite a while since I had him out so long today getting some shopping done. He was a trooper but he let me know when he’d had enough. He started crying in the grocery aisle. He was rubbing his eyes and looking at me like…why are you doing this to me?” I told him to stop crying, that we were almost done and…believe it or not…he stopped crying. There was this sweet old man who had checked out right before me and when I got done emptying my cart of groceries into the car he told me to hand him my cart so that I could get in the car with that baby. He had to be around 70 years old and he’s doing me favors. I was touched. I almost argued with him but thought…it will make him feel so good to be of service and he’s right…I need to get my baby home.

When we got home…Owen sat in the car so patiently while I unpacked all the stuff and then when I brought him in I was about to take his shoes off and he threw up all over me. Isn’t he great! Seriously…he didn’t throw up in the car. I was so glad he waited until he got to the kitchen where I could simply wipe it up with a couple of paper towels and throw his clothes and mine in the washer immediately. He couldn’t have picked a better place to do that. He got a bath and now he’s in bed sleeping. I don’t know if he caught a stomach bug or what but I’m hoping the nap will do him good.

Now there is dinner to make and a kitchen to clean. I think I need a nap too.
