Gone Again

Kris is gone again. He’s off to Texas to participate in a users conference for Business Objects. They are a software company that his company uses and he will be giving a presention on Wednesday morning. I don’t know the details on what he will be presenting but it will illustrate one of the ways his company has developed the software to fit their needs. They are usually very impressed with Kris’ presentations and I’m always so proud to hear about the people who were interested in more information or use of his coding.

He is staying at the Gaylord Texan. A resort hotel much like the Opryland hotel here in Nashville. According to Kris it’s smaller but very nice and he has a room overlooking the atrium.

Owen and I took Kris to the airport this morning and then headed up to my sister Becky’s house to work on some music for a Wednesday night service we will be singing in at church. Our friend Chele’ Sterban will be singing as well so the three of us went through several songs and picked out four we feel comfortable with. Chele’ has the best voice among us by far but I am the one most familiar with the songs and she insists that she wants to sing harmony and not the lead part. I enjoy singing but I’m not as confident as I would like to be and I’m very aware that she sings better so I’m a little extra nervous about the whole deal. I’m sure that it will work out fine. I’m glad it’s just a few songs.

Of course I don’t like it when Kris is not home. I end up staying up way too late and I spend my days feeling so distracted. It’s as if I’m looking for something but I don’t know what I’m looking for. I think I’m in love.
